An introduction to Paper Piecing using a waterwheel pattern.

 Water Wheel Supply List & Preparation Instructions

Waterwheel pattern by Quiltworx * 

Charm Elements 18 by Quiltworx *

Charm Elements 19 by Quiltworx *

Fabric requirements:

(2) 3/8 Yd contrasting fabrics for Round 1 (Center)

(2) ½ Yd contrasting fabrics for Round 2

(2) 7/8 Yd contrasting fabrics for Round 3

2 7/8 Yd border, backing and binding

Other supplies

Add a Quarter ruler

Glue stick

Sewing machine needles Sharps #90 (Sharps are Microtex, Quilting, Denim, etc.…NOT Universal)

Old hotel keycard or template plastic

Rotary cutter, ruler, and mat

Sewing machine in good working order and with which you are familiar

Basic sewing kit (piecing thread, scissors, seam ripper, etc.)

*Pattern and Foundation packs will be available at Serendipity Quilt Shop.

Preparation before class

Cut (2) 10” squares from each Round 1 fabric

Cut (4) 10” squares from each Round 2 fabric

Cut (6) 10” squares from each Round 3 fabric

Place these squares in bag marked #18

Additionally, from each Round 3 fabric:

Cut (2) 10” squares

Cut (1) 2 ¾” X Width of Fabric strip

Cut (2) 1 ¾” X Width of Fabric strip

Place these in bag marked #19

Class is 9-3ish.  Room available for set up at 8:30. Bring lunch.
